The American Society of Civil Engineers Metropolitan Section – Geotechnical Group (ASCE Met Section – Geo Institute Chapter) will award at least one scholarship to a graduate student studying geotechnical engineering at a university within the New York City Metropolitan Area (the 5 boroughs, Nassau/Suffolk County Long Island and lower Hudson Valley). The applicant must be an ASCE Student Member, or child of a Member, in good standing of the Met Section.
At least one scholarship will provide a stipend of $3,000 to be used during the student’s graduate studies at one of the Engineering Schools in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The scholarship recipient will also be invited to attend the ASCE GI-Met Section “42nd Annual One Day May Seminar” free of charge. Only students having been accepted into or currently matriculated in a graduate geotechnical engineering program by June 2017 are eligible for the scholarship.
Applications must be accompanied by a certified transcript and received at the ASCE Met Section – Geotech Group by December 18, 2017. The application is attached herein.
