Ralph Peck Articles

Throughout its 25 years of existence, GEOSTRATA has been fortunate to have been able to publish articles written by many geotechnical "greats," including past Terzaghi, Rankine, Seed, and Peck Lecturers, and many individuals whom we like to call "GeoLegends".

In two back-to-back issues in 2006, we published two contributions from Ralph B. Peck before his passing in 2008. In the March/April 2006 issue (p. 12), Peck applauded the use of case histories for teaching and training purposes in a commentary titled, “The Value of Hindsight.” Then, in the May/June 2006 issue (pp. 12-14), Peck offered “Advice to a Young Engineer,” in which he shared wisdom he had learned from Karl Terzaghi.
