Underground Engineering and Construction

The UEC committee continues its successful Underground Engineering Speakers Program and Student Tunnel Tour Program. The Speakers Program links potential speakers from industry with student chapters of G-I or ASCE and the Underground Construction Association of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (UCA of SME). The Student Tunnel Tour Program provides student chapters with travel grants for a tour of a major underground construction project. This year’s tour sites include the Rondout West Branch Bypass Tunnel Project in Newburgh, New York and the MD355 (BRAC) Crossing in Bethesda, Maryland.
