
Helen D. Robinson, P.E., PMP, D.GE, M.ASCE joins the G-I Board for a term beginning in October 2021.
Robinson is a Branch Manager/ Senior Project Manager with GEI Consultants. She has 18 years’ experience, including 4 years with GEI. Her experience includes design of micropiles, tiebacks, soil nails, drilled shafts, driven piles, sheet pile cofferdams, retaining walls, braced excavation support, ground improvement methods, and shallow foundations. Her professional experience also includes site investigations (boreholes, test pits), soil classification, laboratory testing, load testing field support and interpretation, instrumentation, and research on chemical grouts used for soil stabilization and permeation.
She is GEI’s Program Manager for geotechnical engineering services to support the FHWA’s Office of Bridges and Structures and National Geotechnical Team, including advancing the state of the practice and implementing best practices for bridges, tunnels, earth retaining structures and other geotechnical features. She is a co-author of the FHWA National Highway Institute Soil Nail Reference Manual and is the author or co-author of more than 25 publications on practical technological applications and design in geotechnical engineering. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Penn State University.
She has been a member of the Delaware Valley Geo-Institute (DVGI) since 2003 and takes part in the Girls Engineering Tomorrow (GET) initiative. Robinson is also a Co-Chair of the joint DFI-ADSC micropile committee.
