The Shallow Foundation Committee provides leadership in applying engineering principles related to the design, construction, and maintenance of shallow foundations. The committee accomplishes these tasks by participating in and sponsoring Geo-Institute activities such as conferences and special publications. The committee also works with other ASCE committees and professional societies to improve and expand the understanding of shallow foundations for design professionals and the general public by reviewing, developing, and publishing technical papers, guidelines, and informational pamphlets.
