The Geo-Challenge Directors and the Geo-Institute have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 National GeoWall Competition to be held during the ICFEE 2021 conference in May.
This decision was made after careful consideration and monitoring of the pandemic as well as the associated impacts at universities and communities across the country. In particular, we recognize that institutions have different policies in place regarding student groups working together and their access to laboratory/work spaces on campus.
Furthermore, we realize the difficulties associated with obtaining identical backfill materials across different regions of the country. Given these equity and logistic issues along with the on-going and changing impacts of the pandemic, we take this step to cancel the 2021 National GeoWall Competition as it is the best decision for the safety of our community. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Although the 2021 National GeoWall Competition will not be held this year, we encourage all students to consider participating in one or more of the other GeoChallenge Competitions.

Thank you very much. Please stay safe and healthy amid this difficult time.
