References:
Eaton and Berg (1980)
Elseifi (2003)

Method Summary

The soil strain gauges are installed within the encapsulated soil. Electronic devices record the soil strain. Eaton and Berg (1980) mentioned the use of soil strain gauges to determine the amount of frost heaving caused by freezing of the encapsulated layers. This strain measurement can be used as a quality assurance tool.
